Checked-in luggage carousels

Right after you have got your travel documents checked and validated at the immigration counters, are the checked-in luggage carousels. If you have checked in luggage, this would be your next stop. Sometimes a carousel is shared with 2 flights simultaneously. Again, you have to be patient to wait for your checked-in luggage.

Customs and Excise

After you have collected your checked-in luggage, you have to pass through customs and excise. If you have nothing to declare, you go through the Green Channel, and if you have something to declare, you go through the Red Channel.

Alternative to public taxis to go into Bangkok city, you can take Airport Limousine (24 hours service) with various kinds of cars operates by Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited. Airport Limousines available are:

Travel tips

When you are travelling with an organised tour, you will find that you fly out very early in the morning to arrive at your tour destination so that you maximise your time and cover as much as possible. When you arrive, your tour starts. By the end of the day, you only check into the hotel to rest. That could be like after 10pm.

Tuk Tuks

They are like car taxis with the yellow plate with black letterings. But it is getting lesser in the streets of Bangkok.

When you see tuk tuks with white plate with red letterings, they do not work like the yellow plate with black letterings siblings. These are privately owned tuk tuks. For example, Marriott Sukhumvit Park Serviced Apartments, Davis Hotel, Centrepoint Sukhumvit in soi 10, has tuk tuks with white plate with red letterings. Usually they restrict the area where they can go. They do not go out to places anywhere in Bangkok.

uay Thai (Thai Kick Boxing)

This is one sport not readily available in Malaysia, especially in KL itself. There are some boxing rings hidden somewhere but I do not know where exactly.

In Thailand, you can watch this on television, usually telecast on national channels. Of course, the commentary is in Thai!

很久以前去過泰國是跟團的
最近公司旅遊趣的行程跟我之前去的幾乎都一模一樣!!
不過泰國還真的是個度假的的好地方!!

Songkran

Thai New Year. Celebrated in Thailand as the traditional New Year's Day from 13 to 15 April. It coincides with the New Year of many calendars of South and Southeast Asia.

13-15 April every year is the official gazetted Thai new Year holiday. But in upcountry, can be as long as 1 week!

From my experience and observations

The tradition is on the eve, 12 April, people will clean their house. And the very first day of Songkran, early in the morning, Thais will go to the Wat (Temple) to pray, bringing lotus buds, incense etc. Similar to any day when they go to the wat to pray.

Where to eat?

Want something familiar, as in western cuisine, but not wanting to go to franchise fast food chains and restaurants like Burger King (BK), Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), Arby's, Hardee's, Wendy's, Carl's Jr, McDonald's (McD), Tony Romas, Thank God It's Friday (TGIF), Baskin Robins, Swensen's, Dunkin Donuts, Mister Donuts, Krispy Kreme etc etc.?

Go to a proper western cuisine restaurant. Menus in English or English and Thai. Some times prices set can be surprisingly high!

當初因為去各項娛樂的價錢跟現在差很多很多了
這幾年泰國的觀光消費也是增長不少啊@@
